Ahhhhhh…sometimes there aren’t enough words to describe the depth of love and connection of a family, and this would certainly be the case for this beautiful crew the day they met me at Klondike Park to take family pictures. It was still winter, but you wouldn’t know it by the temperatures that afternoon. I told Jessica to bring some balls along to kick around, because what kid wants to go pose in front of a camera for the afternoon? I know mine don’t, so we may as well throw some games in to make things fun! And this family definitely knows how to have fun, we were not short on laughter that day, that’s for sure!
One of my greatest joys in photographing families is watching them see their own beautiful story as they look through their final gallery when the session is done. Family connections run deep, and life can often feel crazy and messy and sometimes downright scary. I think so many of us have experienced that this past year during this pandemic. So there is something about a still picture, something about pausing time and reflecting on the beauty that resides in a moment captured. To stop and know the love you share is more beautiful than any earthy possession you own. And to be reminded that on the hard days that it’s worth fighting for. So I’m all mush when it comes to photographing families. And I’m so excited that I got to be a part of capturing the beauty of THIS family, as the journey they have been on recently has been a reminder to many of us what matters most. Needless to say, I had such a great time watching them pick out some favorites to display on their walls yesterday. Their order is in, and I don’t know who will be more excited when everything arrives, them or me! As we are waiting, I am excited to share with you some of our favorites…be sure to scroll down to see more of their family pictures at Klondike Park!
