Family of Seven, Everyone is Home! – St Louis Missouri

by | Sep 14, 2016 | Family

As many of you can guess, there is no shortage of fun when it comes to hanging out with this family of seven!  You many remember that I had the opportunity to photograph this crew last November.  However, there was a very important someone missing.  So when their oldest son was back for a visit recently, guess what we decided to do?  You guessed right!  We headed over to George Winter Park in Fenton.  This family has been knit together in a rather special way–and because of that, they don’t have any family portraits where they are all SEVEN in the picture!  Until now, that is.  When Louann and Mike walked out of their appointment Monday after seeing and choosing their portraits, Louann told me that it will soon look like her house is transformed.  She had been eyeing my large canvases on my office walls for a few months now, knowing exactly what she was going to order as soon as her eldest son was able to join them in front of my camera lens.  Before their viewing appointment, Louann sent me some pictures of her walls to plug into my new software during their time here.  That way Mike and Louann could see what different portraits would look like at different sizes, all from my computer screen before they made any decisions on what they wanted to order.  I have to admit, we had a little TOO much fun playing with all the possibilities.  🙂  And talk about taking the confusion out of the ordering process!  They left knowing exactly what everything will look like hanging in their home.  And digital images?  Yes, they did that, too!

Sometimes in life we have to deal with curve balls that are thrown our way.  During those times, we often pause to really consider what is most precious to us in this life.  Family is usually right at the top of that list, isn’t it?  Well, this is a season of curve balls for this special family.  In fact, this week would be a great time to keep them in your prayers as Louann undergoes surgery tomorrow.  That is one of the reasons why we scheduled this session when we did.  I’m bound and determined to have my husband show up with canvases and prints in hand so he and Mike can hang them on their walls during Louann’s recovery.  I can’t think of a better view for her to have in her home during her recoup time than visible reminders of the dearest blessings God has given her this side of heaven, can you?  Recovery is never easy.  But I have a feeling that when she needs a smile or even a big laugh, she’ll look at one particular wall which hangs a HUGE canvas of the ONE picture Mike insisted on ordering.  Any guesses as to which one that is??? 😉
